The Diary of Anne Frank portrays Anne Frank’s (played by sophomore Taylor Damann) family (senior Zac Chamberlin, Senior Katherine Eckert, junior Taylor Keel), forced to hide from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic with four other people – the Van Daan family (senior Sterling Beckmann, senior Jorden Guldner, sophomore Dean Fults) and Mr. Dussel (senior David Felts). This moving play captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence – their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. Pick up graphic novels, art books, photography guides, fantasy titles and more. Stop by today and find something that inspires you, just for the fun of it! Your BW Library will be hosting two events to celebrate Teen Read Week. Oct. 18-25. We will be airing Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief in 25 minute segments from 8:00 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. every morning until the end of the movie. There are so many books turned into movies. Does the movie version live up to how you Pictured It as you read it?

The second event is Three Minute Fiction on October 20 in conjunction with National Writing Day hosted by the BW English Department. Students will perform  and listen to their peers' stories throughout the day. Many thanks to English teacher Nick Johnson for organizing the event.
Here are the rules for the Three Minute Fiction participating students:
The entire piece must be read aloud in three minutes or less (400-600 words).
Each story must use include one character who tells a joke and one character who cries.
(Those two incidents may be, but do not have to be, related. Think of a creative story that uses those two elements.)
Note to the audience, as you listen to the stories remember to Picture It in your mind! We will be posting the audio files on Moodle and the library website after the event.

Please note we will be extending TRW due to Parent/Teacher Conferences and no school on Friday.

-          Ms. Barteau & Mrs. Culbertson
