The Thinking Cup Café closes Friday, May 13 at 10:00 a.m. The library staff thanks all the students who volunteered their time to work as café baristas. The Key Club and the Belleville Kiwanis Club are sponsoring an E-cycle day here at West on Saturday, May 14 from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. Please bring by any electronics that day to donate. We can take used batteries of any kind, used electronics, cell phones, computers, computer monitors, TVs ($5 suggested donation for monitors and TVs), anything with a cord can be recycled. You can bring donations to B108 this week if you are unable to come on Saturday morning.

ATTENTION STUDENTS: The yearbooks have arrived. Your pre-sale books may be picked up on May 12 and May 13 during lunch hours. You will only be able to pick them up during your lunch hour, so do not attempt to pick one up at a different time. Check on the yearbook display case to see if you’ve pre-ordered a book. If you did not pre-order and you would still like to purchase a book, we will have a limited supply available for 60 dollars. We will also be selling previous years’ books. Book Returns: Students may come to the library to return books at any time.

Computer Lab: The computer lab will be available during May 23-27

Printing: Students may print projects during the weeks of May 23-27.

Students with BLUE passes may use the library for school research during 1st – 7th periods the week of May 23-27.

DeVry University is offering PASSPORT2COLLEGE this summer from 7/5/11 to 8/4/11. This is an excellent opportunity for students who will be entering their junior or senior year in the Fall 2011to earn college credit. There is no tuition cost. JOB OPENINGS: Scottrade Center and Peabody Opera House are hiring students through their High School Student Employment Program. Are you interested in attending a summer camp, earning college credits, visiting a college campus? If so, please go to our website, click on Guidance and see the Summer Programming opportunities available or see Mrs. McMurray in C109.

DeVry University’s St. Louis Campus will be offering a 5 week “tuition waived” program for high school students to earn college credit in business and technology courses. This is open to students entering their junior or senior year. Classes begin on July 12 and end August 11. Classes will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Application and paperwork deadline is June 10, 2011. See Mrs. McMurray for an application.

Little Theatre members: Our final meeting of the year will be held this Thursday, May 10, after school in the PAC. We will be holding elections for 2011-2012 officers, and we will have information about our year-end celebration. (Don't forget to make your reservation for the celebration by this Friday, May 13.)

There will be a brief meeting after school for all varsity wrestlers Wednesday, May 11, in the Wrestling Room. This is for the Conference Championship Photo! Please see Coach Sears if you have any questions. Also, use this opportunity to return any Wrestling gear that you may have!

Mark your calendars- This Thursday, May 12th is an important day- The Belleville East and Belleville West baseball teams will be playing their first annual Coaches vs. Cancer baseball game at Belleville East. The teams need your support in order to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Admission is free but the teams will be donating all the money raised in the concession stand to the American Cancer Society. We will also be taking donations throughout the game. Please come out and help us support this important cause.

There will be a mandatory meeting for all boys interested in playing basketball Thursday, May 12. The meeting will be at 8:10 in room D106. If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Coach Muniz in D106 or Coach Garrett in B219 so you can get the information about summer basketball.
