CLUBS, COMMITTEES & ACTIVITIES

BTHS Movie Night - Skyview Drive-In - Thursday, October 8th, 6:30pm

Fully Committed, the Belleville West fall play, follows a day in the life of Sam Callhan, an out-of-work actor who runs the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan's number-one restaurant.  Coercion, threats, bribes, histrionics--a cast of desperate callers will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation or the right table.  You can enjoy this fast-paced comedy from the comfort of your own couch with our first-ever streaming production.  A student ticket is just $5.  Use code west to order your ticket in advance; use coupon code C-weststudent at checkout to get the student price.  Follow this link for more information and to order your ticket:  sites.google.com/bths201.org/2020bwfallplay/home

BW Book Club members:  Based on your input, we'll move our first discussion date to next Wednesday, October 14, at 4:00 p.m.  To keep everyone safe, we will hold a virtual discussion of The Nickel Boys.  You'll be able to join the meeting through our BW Book Club Google Classroom.  Check your email for a list of our next reading selections.

The Freshman-Sophomore play is a GREAT way for underclassmen to get involved in the theatre program.  With no juniors and seniors allowed to take the roles, it's the best chance at West for younger actors to shine on stage!  This year's play is a hilarious series of relationship break-ups titled, "It's Not You, It's Me" by Don Zolidis.

Actors will adhere to social distancing guidelines in rehearsal.  Rehearsals will happen only on days that students are in-person for the first few weeks, but all actors will need to be at rehearsal every day during "performance week," November 16-20.  The final performance of the play will be recorded and streamed live.  There will be no in-person audience for the performance.

In order to audition, you need to...

1. Fill out this Google Form:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf50I1fXnOBACbD4DNV9jrN5cm16ZksC6urYC-y6myv2KyYcA/viewform?usp=sf_link

2. Record a short Flipgrid video of you saying your name, year in school, etc.: https://flipgrid.com/ccfab1b1

3. Join the play's Google Classroom to see the script.  We may also post future announcements here: https://classroom.google.com/c/MTc4NzczMjMxNjQ5?cjc=xgxhemb (class code xgxhemb)

4. Attend one of the after school auditions on Thursday, Oct 15, for group A students and Friday, October 16, for group B students.  Fully remote students may audition either day.
