-Multiple coats, jackets, and sweatshirts have been turned into the lost and found

Life Skills Program- Are you CRUSHing on someone?

Get them a special Valentine's Treat!

The Life Skills Program is selling Orange and Grape Crush Sodas for Valentine's Day!

Order them for your crush, your friends, or even yourself!

Cost for each Crush Soda order: $2.00

Valentine's Sodas can be purchased Tuesday, February 7th through Friday, February 10th in the cafeteria during lunch hours.

Delivery will be on Tuesday, February 14th!

 

We will also have a table set up on Tuesday, February 14th with bake sale goodies including cupcakes, brownies, rice crispy treats, and puppy chow! All items $1.00 each. Grab yourself a sweet treat and one to share with a friend on Valentine's Day!

 

JROTC- Do you have an interest in weather and helping out your community? There is an opportunity for you to become a trained weather spotter at no charge, no age limit! Classes are online or in person. You can learn more about severe weather or volunteer to assist in the community and report to the National Weather Service. Either way, this is an excellent opportunity for all! Here is the link to find out more information. Open to all students, adults in the community. No age limit. Mrs. Belline

Greetings Students, Parents, and Teachers-

It's time again for the  2023 E ST. Louis ACT-SO Enrichment program. I look forward to another exciting year ahead. Please submit the student application and  request guidelines for any of the competitions that students are considering entering.  Please share  student applications with other students, family,  and friends  that might also be interested in the program . I look forward to having the students in our ACT-SO Enrichment program. 

 

I have shared a poster of the students who represented our branch and our Local National Winners from the 2022  NAACP National  Convention ACT-SO COMPETITION  in Atlantic City, NJ.  

 

 ESL Unit 3013 does not offer culinary arts or hospitality management.  Students can select up to 3 competitions from a total of 33 offerings.

  ACT-SO’s Founder ACT-SO was founded in 1978 by author and journalist Vernon Jarrett. The program is intended to provide recognition to young people who could demonstrate academic, scientific, and artistic achievement, allowing young people to gain recognition equal to that often achieved by entertainers and athletes

Boys Swim Team-  Boys that are interested in Swimming for the Sectionals meet on February 18th should send updated event times to Coach Wildermuth by February 6th. CLUB NEWS


Student Council- Send some love this Valentine's Day Student Council will be selling candy grams this Thursday and Friday during all lunch hours. Stop by and send your friends and sweethearts a sweet surprise. We will be selling Orange Crush cans ($3), ring pops ($2), and heart suckers ($1). Candy grams will be delivered on Valentine's Day.

  

 

Octagon Club-Please attend our meeting on Thursday, February 2nd at 8:00 am in S102. We will have a guest speaker from the Optimist Club.

  

      SENIOR NEWS


Dear Class of 2023,

Starting on Tuesday, January 17th the graduation list for all graduates of the class of 2023 will be posted in the Bookstore. This will be posted until February 17th. Please check your name to make sure it is spelled correctly. This is for your diploma and changes to the name must be finalized by February 17th. Any changes will be assessed and aligned with Birth Certificates. If there is a spelling correction or if your name is not on the list, please let your counselor, Mrs. Cosey-Davis, Mrs. Lee, or Mr. Rujawitz know immediately. Senior students!  Would you like to have special recognition in the yearbook?  Ask your parents or guardians to check their emails to find out how to purchase an ad space in the yearbook.  You will need to go through the Jostens' website to make the ad purchase and submit all the materials for the ad. You can purchase an ad through Friday, February 9th. Thank you - Ms. Felton

  

Seniors who are:

1. Attending a vocational/technical school after graduation

2. Attending a Community College (like SWIC) after graduation

3. Going straight into the workforce, but could uses assistance with tools, gear, or training

Here you will find a list of scholarships.  (This is not an exhaustive list.)

Please set up an appointment with me.  Select "scholarship workshop" when booking the appointment.

At the appointment, we will:

1. Identify which scholarships are a good fit for you

2. Gather all of the application instructions, download  & print forms as necessary

3. Set goals for application completion

4. Set a meeting to review the applications before the due date

Meetings can be set on the following days:

Mondays @ the CAVE

Tuesday/Wednesday @ West

Reading Rewards Raffle - Did you read a book in January that is on the RFL or Lincoln lists? Fill out your raffle ticket by February 2 for your chance to win Daily Grind gift cards! Remember all entries are saved for our grand prize drawing in May for an Amazon Fire Tablet. The more you read, the more chances you have to win!

Ready for the ultimate reading challenge? BE Library divides our fiction books into eight genres. Explore those genres by reading one book from each genre throughout the 2022-23 school year. Registeredstudents who complete the challenge of reading the eight books by May 1, 2023 will receive the following: a free book and an invite to the library's Readers Celebration party. One lucky student will also win a pair of brand new Apple AirPods Pro! Want a chance to win Daily Grind dollars too? Read along with the library with our genre of the month! The Library still  requires passes for students to visit during their lunch or study hall periods. Pass requests must be submitted on our form  before 9:30 am on the day you want to visit.  If you do not submit a pass request you will not be allowed to stay in the library.Please check your email prior to coming to be sure your pass was approved.
